ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

 From two years ago, which was 2011, student in elementary schools and middle schools stopped going to schools on Saturdays by the new law of government. Every students were happy with the new law until they found out that their summer and winter vacations were shorter than a month. I was one of those students with dissatisfaction with students not going to school on Saturdays and thought that this could be a serious problem that needs to be changed. Let me introduce some reasons and my opinion of why I think should go to schools on Saturdays.

 The first reason is that vacations are too short. As I told you before, vacations are shorter than a month. In fact, I couldn't be in my school on the very last day because the vacation was too short and I had to come to this camp. Longer vacation means longer time to experience. We could go travel for long time, learning about their culture, study things that we were interested in like another language or an instruments. Or you could join a camp like me, without any absent. Also, schools are places which are too hot in summer and too cold in winter. Studying in these places makes student don't want to go to schools or some students even get some health problems.

 The second reason is we can keep our daily cycle. What time do you usually wake up at Saturdays, when there is to no school or work in the morning? Most people will say late late morning or even during the afternoon. However, getting up early everyday is important. Your body can get used to get up at that time and it will prevent you from sleep disorder. Also, when you get up early, you can eat your breakfast and that will make your brain active.

 

 However, people who thinks we should not go to schools on Saturday say that students can learn more outside. They say students can learn many things by traveling other places or going to a museum. However, what do students do at school on Saturdays? They have adviser time and do club activities. They choose clubs they are interested in, join it and participate with their mew friends with similar interests. Some clubs can be about sports, art or music and they can learn about them for only two or three hours and go back to home before lunch. And I think students can get enough time to learn outside of schools after lunch, too. So, even I agree that students can learn many things outside of schools, I still think that going schools on Saturday can also get student some valuable experiences.

 

 They might also say that students need some rest on weekends. However, as I told you before, we stay at schools for 4 hours before lunch and students can get their free time after that. Also, on Saturdays, student only have adviser time and do club activities which are not really hard. They can do whatever they want to do after that time. So I think Saturday afternoon and Sunday is enough time for students to take rest. 

 To summarize, I told you about why I think students should go to school on Saturdays. The reasons were first, vacations are not long enough for us and second, we can get up early. i also argued that going schools on Saturday can be a good experience and students can take rest during Saturday afternoon to Sunday. These were the reasons why I strongly believe that students should go to school on Saturdays. Thank you.

Hungry Ah-Sung

 Ah-Sung was 15 years old girl. She was pretty, tall and thin. She also had long hair and white skin. She had a handsome boyfriend who was going to be an actor. However, she broke up with him and became hungry.

 She woke up at 2 AM because she was hungry. She was surprised because she had dinner and also bread and milk for snack. She felt so hungry that she had a stomachache. So she came down from her bed, opened her drawer, searched for food. She ate potato chips, beef jerky, nuts, cookies an went to bed again.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST ESSAY

 I watched a movie named, "Brave." The movie was about a princess and her name is Merida. Merida was angry at her mom, Elinor because she didn't listened to her. Merida did not want to follow her mom's wish of marriage so she tried to change her fate.

 I thought the movie was fun, very cute and also it had a good lesson. However, I thought the character 'Fergus' was very interesting because he reminded me of my father, even they look very different and their characters are also very different. So I want to compare and contrast the relationship between Merida and Fergus with me and my dad.

 The relationship between Merida and Fergus is really close. Elinor, Merida's mother, doesn't listen to Merida and make Merida to act like a princess, but Fergus thinks like Merida . We can know this when Fergus gave a bow to Merida as a birthday gift and they talked to each other secretly so that Elinor could not hear it. However, Fergus sometimes didn't listen to his daughter as well. When Merida tried to stop Fergus from hurting, or maybe killing her mom, by explaining the truth, Fergus didn't even try to understand what she was saying.

 However, the relationship between me and my own father is a bit different from Merida and Fergus. Of course right mow, we don't really speak to each other because I'm at camp now. Even after the camp, we don't really have time to spend together because of school and other after school activities. However, me and my father have similar interests such as science, stars or our bodies and talk about it often. We watch documentaries about it together and talk about it, too. We like to travel together. However, my father is really scary when he gets angry. So I should look at his face check if he is feeling well or not and act carefully.

 Then what could be the similarities of differences between these two relationships? One of the similarities could be of course, we love each other very much. Also, another big similarity is that our father protect us from our scary mothers, who always want us to behave will at what we are doing right now.

 Even they sound quite similar, there are some differences, too. The biggest one is that my dad is much more severe and strict than Fergus. If he thinks my behavior is quite bad when he sees it, he gets really angry and becomes much more scary than my mom.

 In conclusion, I think the relationship between Merida and Fergus and me and my dad is similar but also has some differences, too. I hope you enjoyed reading my essay. Thank you!

Dear my pen with a rabbit doll on it,

 I got you as a gift from my sister's friend's mother this summer. I know she has a wonderful shop with joyful stuff, pretty to see and tasty to eat. I'm so thankful to her for giving me such a beautiful thing like you. You, my pen, you know how beautiful you are?

 You are light brown in color, light as chocolate milk with more milk than chocolate. The doll rabbit on top is almost as big as my own hand. Red, yellow and green flowers are all over your body. You also have ribbon which is the color of chocolate milk with more chocolate than milk, and a heart on your stomach is lighter than it.

 You also wouldn't know how delightful you are to study with. Your ink is black which is easy to see. You are a bit heavy but that sometimes that even helps me to have better handwriting. I will study hard with you.

SETTING GOALS

 Let me tell you about three habits I want to change in 30 days.

 My first goal is getting no EOP paper during the camp. I will try my best to speak in English everywhere, so that I can get used to speaking English. Also, before speaking Korean, I will look around to check if there's any PAs or TAs.

 My second goal is stop forgetting things. I will clean my room everyday so that I can find things easier. I'll try to take memos often and I'll pack my bag the day before.

 My last goal is getting up early. To get up early, I must sleep early. I won't talk with my friends until late. I will not drink coffee at night. Also, I will get my alarm clock set.

SELF-INTRODUCTION

 I'm Yoo Dalin in class 20 at GLPS. Let me share three things with you. First, This is my third time at GLPS camp. I've joined GLPS 15 and 17. I thought GLPS was a good experience to study English and get new friends. Second, I have a brother who became 11 years old this year. He is 5 years younger than me so he is very cute. Lastly, my best day in my life was my last birthday because I went to 5th Big Show on that day. Big Show is a concert of my favorite band, Big Bang.
